What You’ll Do

The primary responsibility of the Customer Onboarding Specialist is to support all account opening and onboarding processes for the Bank. This position assists in delivering a seamless customer onboarding experience by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Bank policies and procedures. The Customer Onboarding Specialist provides support to both internal staff and external customers, serving as a key resource for routine onboarding functions while escalating complex matters as needed. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills. 


  • Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external Bank customers and assists in addressing onboarding-related questions or concerns. 
  • Supports the customer onboarding experience by owning deposit account opening, account maintenance, and documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy. 
  • Works with our internal production team to ensure that all clients have appropriate controls and access to all of their RiverBank products and services. 
  • Serves as a point of contact for routine onboarding requests and escalates more complex customer account requests or issues to the Business Banking Specialist. Coordinates with internal departments to ensure efficient onboarding, account servicing, and timely follow-up. 
  • Ensures all onboarding documentation and processes comply with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Identifies customer needs and supports the introduction of ancillary products and services, including but not limited to debit cards, credit cards, and digital services. 
  • Maintains accurate and organized records of onboarding activities in accordance with Bank standards. 
  • Participates in identifying process improvements to enhance the customer onboarding experience and operational efficiency. 
  • Supports onboarding-related training efforts by reinforcing procedures and assisting team members as needed. 
  • Performs other duties and special projects as needed.  



Your Qualifications 


    • 1–3 years related experience in banking, customer service, or operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Basic understanding of Commercial banking products, services, and account opening procedures preferred. 
    • Proficiency in personal computer applications, including Word processing and Excel. 
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures and ensure accuracy. 
    • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently. 
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, directives, and business communications. 
    • Ability to write clear, concise, and professional correspondence. 
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. 
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. 
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. 
    • Courteous social skills to effectively serve customer and employee needs in a business environment. 


    Nice to Haves


    • Branch and/or back-office operations experience
    • Knowledge of online banking

    • Pay range: $39,422-$59,133 (hiring target of $45,000 - $50,000, depending on experience and qualifications)
