Job Description
The HR Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end onboarding experience, from pre-employment through post-hire. This role serves as a key point of contact for new hires, hiring managers, and business partners, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and high-quality transition into the organization.
The HR Onboarding Specialist partners closely with Line of Business leaders, Human Resources, and Risk teams to deliver a consistent and engaging onboarding experience that supports employee success from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the onboarding lifecycle, including pre-hire requirements, offer acceptance transition, and new hire integration
- Serve as a primary liaison for new hires and managers, providing guidance, timely communication, and issue resolution
- Ensure completion and accuracy of onboarding documentation, background processes, and compliance requirements
- Partner with HR, Risk, and business stakeholders to address onboarding needs, resolve escalations, and maintain alignment with policies and procedures
- Monitor onboarding progress and proactively identify and resolve delays, risks, or gaps in the process
- Deliver a high-touch, customer-focused onboarding experience that promotes engagement and retention
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancements in onboarding workflows, tools, and communications
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information, including personal, compensation, and benefits data

Experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to analyze, interpret, and manage data to support onboarding processes
Foundational knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, and benefits

Maintains the highest level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information
Location Requirement
This role follows a hybrid work model and requires working from a designated U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $21.25 - $28.32U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
