Summary of the Position

The National Account Coordinator supports revenue growth by proactively managing customer accounts, coordinating sales activities, and ensuring a seamless order-to-delivery process. This role partners closely with the Program Account Manager to drive account expansion, maintain strong customer relationships, and achieve sales targets through inside sales efforts, account management, and operational support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact multi-unit and assigned accounts via phone and email to generate orders, communicate promotions, introduce new products, and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support Program Sales by managing inbound leads, following up on quotes, and assisting in closing sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to increase retention, satisfaction, and account growth.
  • Input customer orders into the system, verify accuracy, and ensure timely processing and delivery.
  • Monitor account activity and identify opportunities for increased sales volume, new product placement, or promotional participation.
  • Communicate product availability, substitutions, pricing updates, and promotional offers to customers.
  • Partner with Program Sales Manager to support strategic account planning and territory growth initiatives.
  • Track and follow up on open quotes, backorders, and pending sales opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Resolve order, shipping, invoicing, and credit issues in a manner that supports customer satisfaction while protecting company margins.
  • Understand and communicate company pricing structures, credit policies, and promotional guidelines to customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity logs within CRM or sales tracking systems.
  • Assist with sales reporting, forecasting data, and performance tracking as needed.
  • Support special sales initiatives, product launches, and company sales events.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, and Accounting to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Support overall department and company sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong sales aptitude with the ability to identify opportunities and close business over the phone and via email.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and ability to learn CRM and order management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Prior inside sales, account management, or foodservice industry experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or sales is a plus.
